But I feel like what is the point of having a Purple Mattress if you're not actually sleeping on the Purple grid? I have an old 1-inch latex mattress topper that Casper sent me and putting that on top of the Purple made it more comfortable still in terms of the pressure on my joints. That being said it's certainly not a bad bed by any means. And for almost 3 grand and for something I'm going to own for a decade, I didn't feel like it was worth the money. It is an improvement over my Casper in both areas - just not a very big improvement. it's still too firm (surprisingly so) and I'm still waking up with hip/shoulder pain. (The 4 at the time almost felt too soft, and that it was quite a bit more expensive helped seal the deal in favor of the 3). I went down to my local Denver Mattress on a few occasions and spent some time laying on various Purples before I decided on the Premier Hybrid 3. Those are the main problems I was looking to remedy with a new mattress - and from what I read I really thought the Purple would be a good fit for me. I wake up with sore shoulders/hips fairly often. It's not been a bad bed - it's just a little too firm for me and it sleeps kinda hot. So, background is I have the original Casper Mattress (from back when they only made the one). I would say I run hot in general (I'm one of those shorts in the winter time doofs). I'm a 6 foot tall, 165-ish pound side sleeper. I am returning the mattress (I'm nearing the end of my trial period) but have slept on it since late June. Hello - just thought I'd give my Purple review for those who might care to read it.
